Safeguard Derma Sense Saves The Day!

I guess a lot of girls and boys are raving about the new Safeguard Derma Sense for Acne prone skin. Even my sister use it and she's happy with the results. But there's one more variant that is also a life saver.

It is the Safeguard Derma Sense for Sensitive skin.

It is:
Specially designed for easily irritated skin
Mild, unscented formula
No addition of alcohol and dyes

Safeguard Derma Sense gently cleanses sensitive skin, while maintaining your skin's natural defense layer.

It costs P45.65 (90g)

To know why I love this product so much, here is a little information about my skin condition.
I have eczema since I was a child.

What is eczema?
Eczema (dermatitis): A particular type of inflammatory reaction of the skin in which there is reddening, swelling, bumps, and crusting of the skin followed, finally, by thickening and scaling of the skin.

Common triggers of eczema:
* chemicals found in cleaners and detergents that dry out the skin
* rough scratchy material like wool
* synthetic fabrics
* raised body temperature
* sweating
* temperature changes

* a sudden drop in humidity
Other triggers include stress, food allergies, animal dander, and upper respiratory infections.
What Are the Symptoms of Eczema?
Eczema is characterized by itchy, dry, rough, flakey, inflamed, and irritated skin. It can flare up, subside, and then flare up again. It can occur anywhere but usually affects the arm, inner elbow, back of the knee, or head (particularly the cheeks and the scalp).. It is not contagious and becomes less severe with age.

Having eczema is hard and its kinda pricey. I remember going to dermatologist and pay about P3,000 for the soaps, ointments and medicines that will make my skin go back to normal. And it will only last for a few weeks. I obviously cannot afford that kind of maintenance for my skin so I begun searching and searching for an alternative maintenance. I tried almost all of the soaps that has "for sensitive skin" label. There are several times that I purchased organic soaps like coconut milk soap and olive oil soap because of the thought that it will soothe my dry and sensitive skin because it says that it is organic and free of chemicals. But it only made my skin superiorly dry. And I purchased another organic lotion, hoping that it will work on my dry skin. But, to my disappointment, it triggered my eczema.  I got rashes on the back of my elbow (where my eczema usually appears). And because I cannot afford derma treatments, I just wait for it to subside.

Then, May 17,2014 we are grocery shopping again. I am torn, puzzled, confused, clueless on what soap to try next. Then a lady in white approached me (an angel, maybe?)
She asked me,"What is your skin concern?" And I answered, "Eczema."

She showed me Safeguard Derma Sense Gently cleanses Sensitive Skin and I was surprised because I am not aware that they have this variant. I knew about the acne prone variant only but not this. At first I was kinda hesitant to get one because this is safeguard, this is known for anti-bacterial properties and anything anti-bacterial damages my skin. But when I heard that this is milder than the usual safeguard white, this is unscented, no additional alcohol and dyes, I realized that this passed my qualifications for a soap. So i gave it a try.

I used it on me and on my son who also has eczema. That time, my son has a lot of wounds on his legs because he loves sitting on the floor while playing. After a week, I saw that my skin are getting clearer, my skin aren't dry, I do not get occasional rashes that I used to have. My son has less wounds, and no new rashes appearing. I am happy with the results. This is a ++ product for me, because it doesn't only cleanse without irritation, it is also anti-bacterial to protect me and my son from common diseases. On my 4 months of using this product, I can say that this will be forever on our hygiene kit.

If you know someone who has sensitive skin, and do not have idea on what soap to use next, please share my story and recommend safeguard derma sense.
